OEM parts are Original Equipment Manufacturer parts. This means they are made by or for the manufacturer of your vehicle. These parts are warranted by the manufacturer of your vehicle. Certainly the manufacturer of your vehicle would recommend the use of these parts for your repairs.
Aftermarket parts are typically new parts that have been manufactured for your vehicle by a company other than your manufacturer. Usually the supplier of these parts offers a warranty on these parts and frequently an insurance company will extend the coverage if they put them on their estimate.
LKQ parts are Like Kind and Quality parts. Typically these are used parts. There is usually little or no warranty from the supplier of these parts. However, if the insurance company handling your claim has specified the use of these parts, they may offer a warranty on these parts separate from that of the supplier. Check the insurance company guidelines for details.
